Q: Will the Digital Video Recorder work with Library Editor?
As we are retiring the use of capture card integration, Library Editor will not directly connect to your existing capture card. We recommend the use of ClickView TV moving forward for all DVR-related requirements.
If you would like to know more about ClickView TV please see the following links:
For any institutions that still require the continued use of Digital Video Recordings, we recommend seeking a compatible recording software with your current capture card.
If you are using the Hauppauge Capture Card (WinTV-HVR-1700), you may proceed to acquire the WinTV v8.5 software from Hauppauge. This will allow you to continue recording from your current setup.
Similar to ClickView Publisher DVR, the WinTV v8.5 capturing software can capture all programs as a MP4 or TS file that is compatible for direct upload to Library Editor from your local storage.
Please also note:
- If you are using a different capture card, please ensure that the recording software can output videos in accepted Library Editor video formats such as MP4, TS, MKV, AVI or MWV. Otherwise, Library Editor will be unable to upload that recording to your School Library.
- If you do not migrate to Library Editor, ClickView DVR and 24-7 Manager will continue to work for institutions that are still using ClickView Publisher.
Q: How can we add videos to Library Editor from ClickView 24-7?
If you are maintaining the use of our legacy product - ClickView 24-7 Sever, you will need to download the new 24-7 Manager that outputs a MP4 file, this file will be compatible for direct upload to Library Editor.
Q: How can we digitalise DVDs and add them to ClickView?
ClickView is unable to provide any recommendations on how to import from DVDs.
If you have the resources to perform an extract of DVD content, please also ensure that you have approval from the copyright owner(s) before making any imports/exports to and from ClickView.
Please also ensure that this process complies with our terms and conditions before proceeding.
Note: Support for third-party capture cards -
Please be aware that ClickView can no longer provide support for any newly acquired capture card(s), any issues that you may experience in the future will need to be addressed with your supplier.
