New Clips functionality
Customers making use of the new Library editor will have access to the new clipping functionality available within the platform. This expands on the previous ability to create clips via the share tab and allows users to save the clips directly to their Workspace for re-use in the future.
Accessing the new Clipping function
The new clipping function can be accessed in two separate ways, via the options menu displayed below:
The new clipping function can also be accessed via the nav bar that displays when playing back a video, as displayed in the image below:
Creating a Clip!
Now that we've covered how to access the new clip editor, we will now run through how to make use of the section to create a clip!
When selecting either of the above options, you'll note that one of the following screens is displayed:
Accessing the Clip Editor via the Clips tab on the play page
Note: When accessing the Clip editor on the play page, it will make use of the existing video window to allow you to edit the timeline for the clip.
Accessing the Clip Editor via the options menu
Note: When accessing the clip functionality via the options menu, the video player will be rendered within a popup and allow you to create the clip using the blue timeline bar displayed.
Creating the Clip
In terms of controlling the start and endpoint of the clip you have two options, click and drag the starting point and endpoint of the blue timeline bar, or alternatively designating a starting time for the clip via the Start At input, and an ending time for the clip via the End At input.
You can make use of the Clip Title input to give a title to the Clip, and the Clip Description section to give a description for the clip.
The below image displays a Clip I prepared earlier:
Once you've clicked the Create a Clip button, you'll be presented with the following screen
This will allow you to easily share the clip to you desired audience, once you've closed this screen you'll find however that the clip doesn't just disappear as it once would have, you'll find that you can actually access the clip via the Workspace.
Within the Workspace you'll note that you now have a Clip folder being displayed
The Clips you've created will be stored within this folder, and can be accessed the same way you'd access a title within your Workspace. As per the below image.
