When attempting to move a video from a working folder to another folder within the ClickView library, an error may occur stating that "Access is denied", preventing the video from being moved. This error message is usually associated with incorrect NTFS permissions for the network user who is trying to move the video.
Procedure
Log into the ClickView Publisher (Master) using an administrator account. If an administrator account is not used, you will not be able to add/change user permissions. For the specific users whom have this issue, we need to add read and write permissions for them to the ClickView Data folder.
Open the File Share Management console. The below two steps illustrate an easy way to do this:
1. Open the Windows Run dialog box. The shortcut for this is Windows button + R from the desktop.
2. Type fsmgmt.msc into the Open text box and click OK.
Change the user permissions for the ClickViewData$ folder in the Shares subfolder within the console. The below steps illustrate how to do this:
1. Click on Shares on the left-hand side of the console (under Shared Folders (Local)).
2. Right-click on the ClickViewData$ folder and click on Properties.
3. Under the Security tab, click Edit. In the Permissions for ClickViewData window, click Add. In the Select Users... window, click on the Locations... button and change the From this Location to Entire Directory. Type the username of the user within the Enter the object names to select (examples) text box. Click OK.
These prior steps may have solved your permissions issue. If not, additional steps may be required; follow the below steps.
4. Within the ClickViewData$ Properties window, click Advanced. Within the Advanced Security Settings for ClickViewData, click Enable inheritance and check the Replace all child object permission entries box underneath. The inheritance button and checkbox should look like the below screenshot. Click Apply, then OK, then OK.
Your permissions for the correct users should have been created.
