Local Cache can be easily managed via the Settings section of ClickView. This can be accessed by logging in to ClickView, clicking your name at the top right hand corner of the screen, opening the ClickView login drop-down, selecting "Settings" from the list presented and then clicking 'Local Cache' option in the settings menu on the left.
Storage
Within Local Cache settings, you'll need to select 'Manage Local Cache' under the specific cache you want to check.
This will present the following information regarding the new Local Cache:
Here you can see which videos are in the cache and the total space that they are consuming on disk.
Active Cache Titles and Expiry
From the 'Manage Local Cache' page you can view a list of all the videos that have been actively added by teachers as well as the cache expiry dates by clicking on 'View actively added videos'. A list of all video titles will appear with their expiry date and download %.
For more information on Active Caching, please refer to the following article: How do I add a video to the Local Cache?
Software Updates
The Software updates section will display the version of your installed Local Cache.
If there is a newer, more current version available, you can update it with one-click by clicking on 'Update Now'.
Note: There is no need to interact with the server the Local Cache is installed on to perform this upgrade. Local Cache can upgrade autonomously without any further interaction.
Add to Local Cache Settings
The 'Add to Local Cache settings' section allows you to customise the download behaviour and how videos are added to the Local Cache.
Download Time - This option allows you to decide when you would prefer Local Cache to download videos that have been added by teachers. We recommend that you leave this set to 'Immediately' but if your WAN connection is too congested during the day you might want to set this to run after hours, from 6pm - 6am.
Download Quality - This option allows you to choose which resolution Local Cache will prefer when caching videos.
SD will cache 240p to 480p, choosing the highest resolution available
HD will cache 720p to 1080p, choosing the highest resolution available
We recommend that you leave this set to HD, as once the video is downloaded to Local Cache, it will be streamed directly from Local Cache across the LAN.
Early Access Program
The Early Access Program allows you to get beta builds of Local Cache. This means your institute will be the first to receive new builds with exciting new features.
When you opt into the Early Access Program, you will be notified when there are new beta builds of Local Cache to install.
