An interactive video turns ANY lesson into a more engaging experience for your students. Interactive layers can be added to any video within ClickView. Educators can pick from a series of question types and choose at exactly what point in a video, these questions appear.
How do I create an Interactive Video?
1. Select a video you would like to add an interactive layer to.
Tip: To see examples of interactives created by other teachers, refer to the ‘Using Interactive Videos from the Exchange in your Classroom’ tutorial.
Note: Interactive videos created in the 'Exchange' cannot be moved to the 'Library' and vice-versa. If you would like your interactive video to be located in the 'Exchange' or 'Library', locate the video in the ‘Exchange’ or ‘Library’ tabs respectively.
2. Click on the ‘Create an interactive video’ button
3. Use the timeline at the bottom of the video to navigate to the position where you would like to add an interactive element.
4. Select an interactive element you would like to add:
Multiple Choice
Type the question and answers into the relevant text boxes. Remember to tick the correct answer(s) to the question.
Click the ‘Save’ button when all edits have been made.
Short Answer
Type the question into the text box.
Click the ‘Save’ button when all edits have been made.
Note: Once students have answered the question, you will be required to mark their answers.
True or False
Type the relevant questions into the text boxes. Remember to tick the correct answer to the question.
Click the ‘Save’ button when all edits have been made.
Annotation
Type the relevant text into the text box provided. The text editor allows you to format your annotation and add hyperlinks.
Click the ‘Save’ button when all edits have been made.
Note: When viewing the interactive, the video will automatically pause and the annotated text will be displayed next to the video. To resume the video click ‘Save and Continue’.

- Select the browse button and navigate to the desired image on your computer.
2. The selected image will be displayed on the screen so that you can ensure you selected the correct image.
3. If you would like to insert a caption in conjunction with the image, enter the sentence into the provided text box.
Click the ‘Save’ button when all edits have been made.
Note: When viewing the interactive, playback will automatically pause and the image and its accompanying caption will be displayed. To resume the video click ‘Save and Continue’.
If you would like the video to resume automatically, click on the bold ‘pause’ word and ClickView will make sure the video will play automatically after a short period of time.
Missing Word
Type the required sentence into the text box.
As you type the question, you will notice that the sentence will appear directly below the text box with each word surrounded by a grey box
Click on the words you want to hide from the initial sentence. You can click as many as you like.
After you have selected the required words from the sentence, make sure the preview is what you expected and click the ‘Save’ button.
You can fine tune when any interactive element will appear by using the arrows at the bottom of each interactive type.
To delete any interactive elements, hover over the questions at the bottom of the screen and click the ‘Delete’ Button.
Once all edits have been made, click the ‘Save and Continue’ button in the top right hand corner of the screen.
This will take you to the review page where you can change the interactive’s name, description and amend any of the interactive elements you’ve added.
To edit the interactive elements, click the 'Edit this question' link on the right of each item. This will take you to the previous screen where you can make further updates.
Click the ‘Save and Continue’ button in the top right hand corner of the page to continue.
If you would like to make your interactive visible to other teachers, click ‘Yes, make available’, otherwise click ‘No, keep private’.
You have successfully created an interactive! From this page you can preview your interactive, share it or view in your Workspace.
Note: Sharing an interactive works exactly the same as any other ClickView video. For more details regarding sharing refer to the ‘Sharing Interactive Videos’ guide.
